Like you, I’m guilty of letting fear and lack of sewing confidence make me avoid sewing projects that I really wanted to make! Even though I’ve been sewing for a long time there have always been things about sewing that were just a mystery. Because of little things like figuring out the different types of interfacing or how to tell grain I would find myself avoiding certain projects (so sad!). So, one day I got so mad at myself that I wouldn’t take on a project just because I didn’t know something! That’s when I made the decision that I would sew projects that were outside of my comfort zone. This way I would up my sewing game and be able to use fabrics/notions that I would have NEVER used before.
So, this new sewing mantra led me to continually learn what specific sewing fabrics, interfacing, and notions were used for. Now I’ve taken this sewing knowledge and created The Essential Sewing Handbook to help you have more confidence in using different fabrics, needles, and sewing feet to help you improve your sewing skills and knowledge!
