Let’s face it, we live in a busy, hectic, and sometimes chaotic world. A lot of times we have to juggle so many things that if you are not careful you could easily miss a deadline or appointment. Personally, I detest that feeling you get when you know you have forgotten something! This is why I feel very STRONGLY about planners and wall calendars to help keep me stress free (or at least try). I think because I’m very visual that I have always preferred some sort of physical calendar that I could write on versus a digital organizer.
Recently, I went through an “I want to get more organized” phase and decided that it was absolutely necessary to have some sort of calendar on my wall that I could update every week. This began the great adventure of finding something cute for my wall that would be reusable. After a ton of looking at office supply stores and online, I realized that I didn’t like anything they had to offer.
Then it hit me! I had a dry erase board in my closet that was basically just a junk drawer for magnets, flyers, and pictures. I got this brilliant idea to create a calendar from magnets so every day when I get my clothes I could see what was on the agenda for the day. This project was so easy and was very cost effective because all I had to buy were the stickers and magnets since I already had the board!

What You Need!
- Magnetic Tape
- Dry Erase Magnetic Board
- Scrapbook Paper
- Number and Month Stickers
- Week Day Magnets
I found this magnetic tape at Walmart for super cheap and it was enough to do the calendar, the months, and the days.
What To Do!
The first step in creating a dry erase magnetic calendar is to measure how wide you want the calendar. Cut the magnets and try on the board before you start decorating.
Find adorable scrapbook paper and then remove the backing of one of your cut magnet pieces.
Press the magnetic tape firmly onto the back of the scrapbook paper.
Cut the scrapbook paper using the magnet as a guide.
Tip! For the small pieces of magnetic tape lay them down on the scrapbook paper all at once.
Then you can just cut them out at one time instead of one by one.
For the long piece of magnetic tape you will have to piece the scrapbook paper. The good thing about choosing a busy pattern of scrapbook paper is once completed you will never be able to see the seam.
Put your new calendar boarder on your board and be amazed how good it looks!
Now you could just use the dry erase markers and put what month, date, and day of the week it is. But by now you should know that’s not really how I roll. So, I found some number and month stickers at Joann Fabric so I could make my own!
To make these cute little guys I cut the magnetic tape the same size, added some scrapbook paper to it, and finished it off with the number stickers!
I did the same for the month and to do magnets. I also made a Molly (my furry love) magnet to put on Sunday. This helps me to remember that she needs her allergy medicine that day.
To store these bad boys I found an empty can that I wasn’t using and turned it into an instant storage container.
For the days of the week I really wanted something that stood out from the other magnets. So, I decided I would buy pre-made magnets from Joann Fabric. I got these days of the week magnets for around $3 after my coupon so it was a total win!
All that is left to do is put on some cute magnets to decorate the other side of the board! Don’t have any cute magnets? Check out my post about how to make custom magnets!
So, you now have a custom dry erase magnetic calendar that will help keep you more organized! Not to mention that it looks super cute while doing it!
This calendar was the perfect solution to my scheduling needs! Now I can easily see all of my appointments every morning as I get ready for the day.
