Maybe it’s just me, but it always seems like when you’re trying to leave the house you’re always in a hurry! If you’re lucky everything that you need to do to look absolutely fabulous goes just as planned and you can make it out the door on time! On rare occasions, you have days when you are running ahead of schedule and you congratulate yourself that for once you are not running late! Then you go to turn on your vanity mirror and nothing happens! After you fuss with it for several minutes you decide that the light bulb must have burned out and now you’re running late (sigh)!
The same thing happened to me! Since I put my makeup on in my room that’s dark I pretty much couldn’t see my face. I took a flashlight and tried to light up the mirror so I could put on my makeup (total fail)! Irritated, I found mirror paperwork and it said absolutely nothing about replacing the light bulb. So I thought maybe it wasn’t meant to be replaced. This made me SO mad so I googled it but couldn’t find any information if it was possible to replace the bulb. That’s when I decided what’s the worst that could happen and opened up the mirror! To my great surprise it was just a 14w CFL light bulb.
I soon was off to Lowes to find my light bulb so I could once again see my face when putting my makeup on (the world rejoices). I took the bulb that was in the mirror with me to Lowes to purchase the replacement. Unfortunately, the bulb didn’t say much except it was 14w. So, once I went down the light bulb aisle I quickly felt overwhelmed at the endless options! I finally settled on a box of bulbs that looked similar to the one in my hand. However, when I got home, I realized the new ones weren’t the same color as the original one!
Back I went to return the bulbs I had just bought! While I was returning the wrong light bulbs, I told the man helping me what I was using the bulbs for and my frustration at not knowing which ones to purchase. He told me that he had built a vanity for his granddaughter (so sweet) and that I needed to buy the daylight bulbs. You know what? He was totally right! The white light is perfect for illuminating your face as you apply makeup!

Does your mirror have varying degree of light or it is just one brightness?
My light only has one brightness. My suggestion to you is to open it up and see what kind of bulb is already in it. Most bulbs have some kind of info on them so you can replace with like light bulb. Good luck!
