Essential oils are by far one of the most amazing things that I have ever discovered. I love EOs, obviously, and I love everything about them EXCEPT the glass bottles they come in. Before all the EO lovers freak out and send me endless emails about all the reasons why EOs have to be in glass bottles, let me stop you. Trust me I know, but all those reasons mean absolutely nothing to me as I drop or knock my expensive EO bottle onto my concrete floor.
I quickly realized once I discovered EOs that I was going to need to do something about the whole not breaking the bottles thing. After much research on the internet, I still was at square one. So, drum roll please, I made my own pattern for essential oil bottle sleeves! They are super cute and fit snug enough that they don’t come off when dropped on the floor. I would also like to mention that these have been field tested on the outside ground, concrete floor, and on carpet. The below patterns are for the 5ML and 15ML bottles and just as a reference I used Young Living (don’t hate me) bottles for sizes but I assumed the other guys’ bottles are probably pretty similar in dimensions.

Double crochet around into each previous double crochet (9), slipstitch to beginning chain 2.
Round 3: Chain 2, double crochet around into each previous double crochet (9).
Slipstitch to beginning chain 2.
After you finish round 3 STOP crocheting! You want to try your bottle sleeve on the bottle you are making it for. So, you want the sleeve to be a little tight as you put it on your bottle. Because yarn will stretch over time you want it to be too loose down the road. If your sleeve is really too small then try adding an extra double crochet into the magic ring in the beginning of the pattern. If your sleeve is too big then remove a double crochet from magic ring.
Round 4 & Round 5: Chain 2, double crochet around into each previous DC (9), slipstitch to beginning chain 2.
Fasten off and weave in your ends!
