I absolutely LOVE cartoon movies so much! And….some of my favorite cartoon movies are the Despicable Me movies because the Minions are so cute and funny! I have rewatched those movies more times than I really care to admit (let’s just say a lot). Seriously, who can watch the Minions for more than a minute without laughing? So, I’ll take a wild guess that’s no one!
As I was designing the Mickey Mouse Amigurumi I had a sudden thought (a stroke of genius some might say). Why not make a super cute & versatile crochet minion amigurumi ball? So, I got working on the pattern and pretty soon had a completed crochet Minion amigurumi. This cute Minion can easily be made into a backpack bobble and if you add a hanging ribbon you could totally use it on your Christmas tree as an ornament. So….are you ready to make your own crochet Minion amigurumi? Then let’s do it!

FYI!
- You can easily change the Minion ball into a purse or backpack bobble. Just sew a keychain ring or hook to the finished project and hang your super cute minion!
- The Minion is crocheted in the round. This means that you don’t join the end of the round with a slip stitch and insert the first stitch of the next round into the first stitch from the last round.
Stitches Used!
- Increase ~ Insert two single crochet into one single crochet from last round.
- Invisible Decrease ~ Insert hook into the first single crochet’s front loop, then insert hook into the second single crochet’s front loop, yarn over then pull through both front loops, yarn over then pull through the two loops on hook.
- Slip Stitch ~ Insert hook into the stitch, yarn over then pull through the stitch and the loop on hook.
