Credit Card Wallet Sewing Tutorial

Credit Card Wallet

I love making little wallets. They are so much fun to design and sew! There are so many ways to create cute pockets and zippered compartments. However, it dawned on me as I was designing the double pocket zippered coin purse that there are times when you really don’t need all those pockets and zippers.

So, I decided to make a very simple credit card wallet that is super slim and can easily fit in any purse. This little wallet is super fast to make and is the absolutely perfect size to slide into your pocket if you didn’t want to carry a purse! So…..are you ready to make one of these cuties for yourself? Then let’s do it!

FYI!

All sewing is done with a 1/4 inch seam allowance.

Important Info!

When printing the sewing pattern PDF make sure to adjust the print settings. After you click on the print button in the PDF the printer dialog box will come up. On this screen you want to change the default zoom page size to be Actual Size. If you don’t change this setting then the pattern will print smaller then intended (so sad!).

What To Do!

To begin the easy credit card wallet you need to download the free pattern from The Pattern Stash. Once you have the pattern cut out the fabric and interfacing. Then take the interfacing piece and press it onto the wrong side out the outside piece.

Next, place the outside piece and lining piece with right sides together.

Then pin the credit card wallet. Make sure to leave a 1 1/2 inch space for a turning hole. I like to place the turning hole on one of the lower sides.

Next, sew around the entire credit card wallet making sure to leave open the turning hole.

Then cut the seams and make tiny point cuts around the rounded side of the credit card wallet. Make sure to NOT cut the seams!

Next, fold up the bottom of the wallet toward the lining. The front side of the credit card wallet should measure 2 3/8 inches. Pin the front side.
