Are you a fan of cartoons? I totally love cartoons and get excited anytime a cartoon movie is released! Seriously, I can’t tell you how many times me and my sister have been the only adults in a cartoon movie at the theatre!
Some of my most favorite cartoon movies are the Despicable Me movies. Those movies make me laugh SO hard regardless how many times I have watched them. So, when I was designing gift card holders I just knew that I wanted to make one that was a minion! Once I was finished crocheting I giggled because he was just so cute!

Fasten off and weave in your ends!
Sew Straps:
Then mark where your straps will go. I put markers between rows 10 and 11 with 6 stitches between. Now, I made straps on the back as well as the front but it’s up to you if you want to sew the back ones.
Next, take blue yarn and sew around the single crochet.
Then sew around one more time. Repeat for the other three straps.
Sew Eye Band:
Next, mark where your 9mm safety eye will go between rounds 14 and 15. Make sure to mark this on the side that doesn’t have the joining seam. Then sew a black line all the way around the minion’s head.
Next, sew the black band again on the right side of the previous stitches you made.

Then sew the band one more time on the left side of your previous stitches.
Insert Safety Eye:
Next, take your 9mm safety eye and insert it between rounds 14 and 15 where your marker was. Then sew a black circle around the eye. Next, take some small jewelry cutters and cut the back of the safety eye down. Make sure to not cut too far down or the back of the safety eye won’t stay on!
Then take your yarn needle and a piece of blue yarn and sew the bottom of the gift card holder closed. Weave in the ends of your yarn.
And all that is left to do is load your cute gift card holder with the gift card of choice.
